Keep your brain top of mind during annual checkup

Adults age 65 and older should receive annual cognitive health assessments; however, only 16% of seniors say they receive regular screenings for memory or thinking issues during routine checkups. For those who are experiencing problems, getting checked by a doctor can help determine if it's Alzheimer's or some other — perhaps even treatable — condition.

Caregivers need to pay attention to their physical and emotional health

As a caregiver for a person living with Alzheimer's or another dementia, you may find yourself neglecting to take good care of yourself. The best thing you can do for the person you're caring for is to stay physically and emotionally strong.
