Grandma and Me: A kid's Guide for Alzheimer's and Dementia Book by Beatrice Tauber Prior, Psy.D and Mary Ann Drummond, RN
Matthew has always enjoyed spending time with his Grandma. They walk through her garden, learning about flowers and the critters and savor butterscotch candies. Lately there are days when Grandma doesn't want to walk in her garden. Instead, she sits by the window. On one of her good days, when Grandma can stroll and eat butterscotch like she used to, something strange happens. Grandma calls Matthew by his dad's name...Johnny.
Grandma and Me captures children's imaginations while offering answers, settings expectations, and providing tools to help children on the sometimes difficult journey that is Alzheimer's disease. The beautiful and whimsical illustrations will absorb children into the story and encourage them to return to Grandma and Me time after time as they learn how to maintain a relationship with their loved ones on their loved ones on their journey with this disease.
