- A) Please HALTT (Focuses on understanding what resident’s are
communicating through their behaviors even though it may be challenging.
HALTTT is an acronym to help you remember some of the most basic needs: Hungry,
Afraid, Lonely, Tired, Toilet, Thirsty. This one is good for caregivers
or families.)
- B) Caring for the Family (This topic covers stages of grief, answering
common questions families have about a community environment for residents with
memory care, two minute family check up, and working with a dissatisfied
family. This educational is geared towards professionals working in a
facility/community setting to provide them with a better understand of the
unique feelings families dealing with a loved one who has dementia and needs a
memory care may be feeling and the best to communicate with them effectively.)
Continuing education hours (5) will be provided for social workers, CNA's, adult care home and nursing home administrators, and pharmacists. Nurses are awared 4.8 CNE's for completion of this activity.
