Keynote Speaker

Alan Jay Lerner, M.D.

Keynote speaker is Alan Jay Lerner, M.D., with the Department of Neurology, University Hospitals, Case Western Medical Center, Cleveland. Dr. Lerner is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and certified in Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry by the United Council of Neurological Subspecialties. Dr. Lerner will discuss Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders with an emphasis on frontotemporal (FTD) and Lewy Body dementias. Dr. Lerner’s presentation will be followed by geriatric pharmacist, Tracey Pierce. A popular presenter, she will address commonly used medications in the treatment of dementia. A second session will feature Teresa Cook, Community Programs Manager with Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging, on practical ideas for coping throughout the disease process.
