Caring for People Living with Alzheimer's Disease: A Habilitation Training
Country Meadows of Leader Heights

Please join us for a Direct Caregiver Conference -“Caring for People Living with Alzheimer’s Disease: A Habilitation Training”

The conference will take place on Wednesday December 6, 2017 from 8 AM – 4:30 PM at  Country Meadows of Leader Heights, 2760 Pine Grove Road, York, PA 17403

This conference is designed to educate and train direct care providers on what must be done to provide exceptional Dementia Care.  The conference will introduce the core dementia approach, Habilitation Therapy.  Participants will be encouraged to abandon the stereotypes about aging, and understanding that Alzheimer’s is a disease not the normal consequences of aging.  Habilitation Therapy helps to provide those living with Alzheimer’s or another related dementia to be active, enjoy their day and to assist with personal care tasks as they are able.  The primary goal of Habilitation Therapy is to promote a positive emotion in the person living with dementia by maximizing their strengths and abilities, and minimizing their limitations.
