The Alzheimer's Association Business Consortium has organized a think tank meeting on "Translational Animal Models for Alzheimer's Disease", focusing on the important insights into the disease that the models have provided and how translation to the clinic has been limited.

The field needs more predictive animal models in order to better understand disease mechanisms and to accelerate discovery of new AD therapies. The think tank meeting will explore the history of animal models, the current state of the science, identify the gaps, and work towards the specifications needed to develop the next generation of animal models for AD.
