Join us for the 2017 Pennsylvania Advocacy Day in Harrisburg. As an Alzheimer's advocate, you will have the opportunity to meet with
legislators and draw critical attention to the advancement of
Alzheimer's public policies.
Be a catalyst for change in the
Commonwealth and ensure that the needs of Pennsylvanians living with
Alzheimer's, their family members and caregivers are addressed.
Did
you know that as many as 400,000 individuals are living with
Alzheimer's disease or a related disorder (ADRD) in the Commonwealth of
Pennsylvania?
Furthermore, Pennsylvania has the fourth highest
percentage of older population in the nation, with the incidence of ADRD
rising in lock step with the aging population. Alzheimer's is the 6th leading cause of death in our country and the only disease in the top ten causes of death that currently has no cure, no treatment, and not even a way to slow its progression.
Now
is the time for action! Now is the time that we need you to use your
voice in the fight against this disease.
At the Pennsylvania
Alzheimer's Advocacy Day you
will be empowered to share your story with key state legislators and
ask for their support to make Pennsylvania a more dementia capable
state.
Alzheimer's Advocacy Day will
begin with a breakfast and training for advocates in the morning in
room followed by
meetings with policymakers will be scheduled throughout the day. Panel presentations with key state policy stakeholders will be held in the afternoon.
We hope you will join us! Register today!
