Today, over 35 million people across the world are living with Alzheimer's, including more than 5 million Americans. In the United States alone, more than 15 million caregivers generously dedicate themselves to those with Alzheimer's and dementia. These numbers will only continue to rise unless we take action. Together, we can show those facing Alzheimer's disease they are not alone. Please take the challenge and help support the Alzheimer's Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter advance research and provide care and support to those facing the disease today.
About Our Chapter The mission of the Alzheimer's Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter is to enhance the quality of life of all persons affected by Alzheimer's disease and related disorders through compassionate, comprehensive services; effectiveadvocacy; support for research; and access to current information and resources. We offer a wide variety of programs and services specifically designed for individuals diagnosed with the disease as well as families,caregivers, professionals, and the community as a whole. The Northwest Ohio Chapter serves 24 counties: Allen, Ashland, Auglaize, Crawford, Defiance, Erie, Fulton,Hancock, Hardin, Henry, Huron, Knox, Lucas, Mercer, Ottawa, Paulding, Putnam, Richland, Sandusky, Seneca, VanWert, Williams, Wood and Wyandot. In this 24 county service area, it is estimated that more than 38,000 families. The Chapter is a private, non-profit organization funded through contributions from individuals, businesses, andfoundations, as well as funds administered by the Area Office on Aging of Northwestern Ohio, Inc; Area Agencyon Aging 3; and Ohio District 5, Area Agency on Aging.
