Painting & Drawing Open Studio with Lesa Cook Partners in the Arts is a program for people in the early stages of Alzheimer’s or related dementia to participate in activities that focus on the enjoyment of the arts. Anyone affected by early-stage dementia, including caregivers individually, are welcome to attend. This self-expression class will be held in an open studio format for people to work independently under the guidance of the artist and instructor, Lesa Cook. Participants can bring projects they are working on or request direction. No experience is necessary and all mediums are welcome. Students will also take short guided tours of the galleries and works of art on display at the Delaplaine Visual Arts & Education Center for inspiration and enjoyment.
