I fought the urge to believe that one day my own father wouldn't always remember who I am, who was saddened when I told him that his mother had passed 40 years ago, who still can tell me with his look and his tender eyes that he loves me (when he has those moments of memory).
A father, a son, a brother, a husband. An Army veteran of the Korean war, a 20-year veteran of the police department. A loving man who taught me the rules of football while eating cheese and crackers while watching the game.
Treasured memories for me . . . forgotten memories for him.

Dad is dancing in heaven
Dad no longer struggles with Alzheimers. He went home to be with the Lord on August 4, 2010. He will be missed by so many. We'll write more soon.
