Janet E. Siekkinen, age 86, formerly of Canfield, Ohio, died on November 17, 2017 at Blossom Hill Care Center in Huntsburg, Ohio. She had been a resident there since March of this year.

Janet was born on November 27, 1930 in Youngstown, Ohio. She is the daughter of Harry G. and Mary Evelyn (Lyons) Lewis. Janet was a 1948 graduate of Liberty High School and she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wooster College in 1952.

Janet worked at the Strauss Hershberg Department Store (prior to marriage). She was a member of the Canfield United Methodist Church for over 50 years, gladly volunteering wherever needed. For decades, Janet enjoyed bowling on the local Canfield bowling league. Other favorite activities include: spending time with dear friends, card club, making latch hook rugs, square dancing club, and canoeing. Being a wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker were her greatest pleasures.

Janet is survived by her husband George (Tom) Siekkinen, whom she married on September 19, 1953; recently celebrating 64 years of marriage. She is also survived by their two children; daughter, Sheila (Fred) Wright and son, Bruce (Yvette) Siekkinen, 6 grandchildren: Corey, Thomas, and Angelyn Wright and Rachel, Sarah, and Ethan Siekkinen. Grandson Spencer Wright preceded her in death.

There will be a viewing on Saturday, November 25th at 10:00 am at the Canfield United Methodist Church, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 and a Luncheon in the church's social hall.
