Booker "Bookie" H. Shillcutt was a tremendous father, husband, family member, and friend to all. He had a zest for life with an incredible ability to meet and know everyone who crossed his path. He was an avid sportsman, playing tennis, golf, hunting, fishing, and in his younger years as a high school and college football and baseball all-star.
Bookie was afflicted with Alzheimer's several years ago, but it progressed aggressively because of the stroke he had 20+ years earlier. His ability to communicate, as he was accustomed to, was greatly affected by the onset and progression of this disease. However that did not stop his willingness to meet, love, and help others as long as he could. He fought the good fight until the end, for which he is blessed to no longer suffer with dimentia and Alzheimer's.
This fund is set up so that other families, who are affected by this terrible disease, can some day find a cure, such that future generations are no longer impacted by the debilitating effects.
Being ever mindful of others, Bookie would want to help find a cure and ease the suffering of those afflicted and their loved ones.
We thank you for your support and Gob bless.
