My mother, Helen Soffer, has Alzheimer's that was diagnosed in 2011, which has really progressed. It has been so hard to see this disease take away her mind and, sometime in the next few years, her life.
I'm walking again this year, as I have done since Mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, to help find a cure for this awful disease. We need to do more research, and that takes money.
I know that it will be too late to help my Mom, but we need to find a way to change the course of this disease as soon as possible.
It's more personal now since I have one variant Apoe gene, which (along with the fact that my Mom has late-onset Alzheimer's Disease) increases the likelihood that I, too, will get the disease.
I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
Thank you for joining the movement! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts with you.
Thank you for helping us advance Alzheimer's support, care and research!
