Dancing Star-Beverly Montoya

Beverly Montoya is the Hospice Administrator for Hospice de la Luz

I'm dancing my way to end Alzheimer's disease and I need your vote!

I am blessed to say that I have not had a close loved on with Alzheimer’s disease, but in hospice, we see patients with End Stage Alzheimer’s and it is so hard when visiting with the family members of Alzheimer’s.  It can sometimes be physically and emotionally draining for the family members, so we take pride in our role to provide comfort, counseling and reassurance.  Our staff has received advanced training in Alzheimer’s care and we understand the behaviors, needs and complications associated with Alzheimer’s.  Hospice de la Luz has developed a wide array of complimentary therapy programs which our available to our patients as well as to their families:  Aroma Therapy, Geriatric Touch Therapy and Music Therapy.  I'm committed to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer research, care and support.

Growing up, I was a ‘band geek’ for 9 years, ran Cross Country and Track for 4 years in high school, but today if I run to my car when it’s raining everything in my body hurts including my eyelashes!! I would compare my dancing style to Lucielle Ball AFTER her Vitameatavegamin commercial.

I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into prevention, treatments and a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.

Thank you for joining our movement!

I prefer to mail my donation.
