I am a native of Augusta, graduating from Richmond Academy and Paine College.
I have been married to my wonderful husband Joe for 16 years and we are the proud parents of Joseph (14), Jacob (12) and Carsyn Grace (3).
With strong ties to my community I am an active member of Bethel AME church where I serve in many capacities, working closely with the Greater Augusta Arts Council and a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc.
I have been in pharmaceutical sales for over 17 years and 9 of those years I promoted a medication that slowed the progression of Alzheimer's disease, also working closely with the local Alzheimer's Association during that time. Over the years I have witnessed family members and friends deal with the affects of Alzheimer's disease. Most recently my family has been impacted by dementia, when my grandmother was diagnosed a little over 3 years ago.
So I am dancing for my grandmother, Evelyn Spencer, and to help reclaim the future for millions. By participating in this event, I'm committed to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer research, care and support.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
I need your support to do my part! Yes I want your vote, but every $1 makes a difference! No donation is too small. Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into prevention, treatments and a cure for Alzheimer's.
See you on the dance floor!
Thanks in advance,
