Fundraising Honor Roll

I want to thank the selection committee and The Alzheimer’s Association of Columbus for selecting me to participate in this year’s Dancing with the Stars event. I lost both my grandmother and my aunt to this disease, personally experiencing the toll it takes on family and friends, both physically and emotionally. My aunt was a rock to my uncle raising their family and supporting him in running a 13,000 acre ranch in central Montana. My grandmother was of strong Norwegian descent who spent her life serving others as a registered nurse. It was heartbreaking to watch Alzheimer’s disease slowly take them away from us. I am thankful to the assisted living communities who understood this disease and played a supporting role in their care at the end stages of life.

I was born and raised in the mountains of Missoula, Montana spending most of my childhood skiing, fishing, and enjoying the outdoors. After receiving my Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Montana, I found new adventures in the Netherlands where I attended physical therapy school for the next 2 years. This is also where my heart was stolen by a beautiful southern girl from Georgia. My wife, Kathy, and I have been blessed to work in a profession we love for 20 years now, and the last 11 serving the Columbus area for HPRC, Inc. at St. Francis Rehabilitation River Road Clinic. As a physical therapist, I take great pride in serving my patients, assisting their return to active lifestyles and promoting long term health and wellness beyond injury. Kathy and I are blessed with 3 beautiful children; Noah 18, Jonas 15, and Siri 12. We are a busy and active family. Our kids play all-things soccer and Kathy and I swim, bike and run successfully crossing 7 Ironman finish lines between us. I am hopeful that my athleticism will overshadow my dancing experience which is limited to wedding receptions and embarrassing my daughter!

I love our community and feel honored to participate in this event to raise money and awareness for Alzheimer’s disease. I am asking for your vote and monetary donations to support this amazing event for such an important cause. No amount is too small and I am appreciative for every dollar. Thank you in advance for your support and I look forward to being a part of the entertainment on April 5th!
