I was born in Rocky Mount, NC. I lived on Tybee Island until High School when my family moved to Wilmington Island where I still live today. My husband, Mike and I have four wonderful daughters and two perfect grandchildren.
For the last 30 years, I have worked for Spectrum Printing and Marketing, Inc. doing what I love – serving clients and helping them look good with print and promotional products.
When I’m not doing that, I love to be out on the boat or at the beach. During the colder weeks, I retreat to my scrapbook room to make lasting memories for my family. Documenting pictures of our lives is extremely important to me.
When our daughter, the competitive dancer, went off to college, and I was no longer a dance mom, I decided to do something I had always wanted to do. Learn to tap dance! I’ve only taken one year of tap but I practiced really long and hard and was in the Gretchen Greene School of Dance recital in 2017! What a role reversal to come off stage and be smothered by my daughter who was watching in the wings.
My grandmother and my husband’s grandmother both passed away from Alzheimer’s. It was heartbreaking to watch helplessly as they faded away from our lives. I wanted to participate in Dancing with the Stars to not only enjoy my new love of tap dancing, but to make a difference in the lives that are affected by this dreadful disease.
Please consider a donation to help find a cure! You can sponsor me, buy a ticket for the event so you can enjoy all the dancing, or you can simply vote for me here.
