Fundraising Honor Roll

Eric was raised in the ballroom dancing capital of the world… Ellijay, Georgia. In his childhood home, he and his brothers were regularly forced to entertain themselves while their parents were busy teaching ballroom dance. Eric now regrets not paying more attention to his parent’s lessons.

Eric attended Gilmer High School and later studied physical therapy at the Medical College of Georgia. He graduated in 1990. He practiced physical therapy for many years and still considers any physical activity, including dance, to be “therapeutic.”

Eric has called Dalton home since 1997. He is the proud father of Amanda Bryant(26), Will Ward(23), and a bonus daughter, Hannah Knight(21). His lovely new wife and best friend, Michelle Frix Ward, is a retired educator and former “Dancing Star” with the Dancing Stars of Calhoun. She’s reportedly told Eric that “he’d better work hard, because she expects him to bring home the Mirror Ball!”

Eric is physical therapist assistant and has recently joined Associates in Orthopedics & Sports Medicine (AOSM) in Dalton, Georgia.

Eric’s interests include motorcycling, music, travel, fitness, and dining. He’s also a blues harmonica player, enjoying many years as the front man for The Cherry Vendetta Blues Band.

While providing physical therapy services in the Alzheimer’s wing of a local nursing home, Eric witnessed the devastating effects that Alzheimer’s has on families. He also realized the special medical care that’s required. Later, his mother Mervette, was diagnosed.

“Although my mother’s battle with Alzheimer’s was short, secondary to other issues, I’ll never forget the pain of seeing her slowly slip away. That’s why I’m dancing and that’s why I ask that you consider supporting me as I honor the memories of my parents, who loved me and loved to dance.”

 Thank you!
