I graduated from Mercer University School of Medicine in 2001. In 2004, I completed my pediatric residency at the Medical Center of Central Georgia. Spending time volunteering at the Hephzibah Children's Home, United Cerebral Palsy Center, Animal Medical Clinic and Ebenezer Baptist Association has greatly impacted my respect for our community. April will make 16 years that I hve been happily married to Tammy Smith; we have three boys Jase (14), Cope (11), and Cale (7). My love for children is what inspired me to become a pediatrician, and my love of pediatrics is what influenced me to become president of Primary Pediatrics.
During family time, I enjoy taking my boys on hunting & fishing adventures. During sports seasons, I love coaching my boys and their teams. When given the opportunity my wife and I love to spend our time traveling.
The health and well being of the community is a top priority of mine. I have seen how Alzheimer's can affect the family, loved ones and their care givers. Today I am dancing in honor of my community.
