Maxine Stitzer-Hodge is a Professor in the Psychiatry Department at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where she has had a long and successful academic research career with a specialty in addictions treatment research. Outside of the office, she is captivated by music and has been dancing all her life, though not usually in front of an audience. But a recent two-year stint in the dance troop of the Senior Star Showcase at CCBC Essex sparked her interest in finding more dance outlets.
Maxine is excited to find that dance and social causes can come together in a happy marriage such as here at the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Ball. A chance to dance while raising money for such a worthy cause seems too good to be true.
She will dance in honor of her father who died of Alzheimer’s and her mom who cared for him to the end.
