About Us

My father, Arthur "Jim" Neumann is a Korean War Veteran. He married my mom in 1950 and they had 6 children. They have several grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. My brother died at the age of 48, 3 years ago, and they now have 5 children living. This year they will celebrate 59 years of marriage.
I'm watching this disease -ever so slowly -steal every memory my father ever had, away from him. There are no happy endings to stories of AD. He doesn't know who I am. I spend every other weekend with him to give my mom a break as I live out of town. But everyone pitches in and does what they can. This once avid fisherman, hunter, loved to play golf man is slipping away a little more every day. I can't think of a better way to try to combat this disease other than more research, more research and more research! So donate, donate, donate!!! Help us save others!

Mom and Amy took Dad to see the Mackinaw Bridge, just to show him that it's still there. They also went to visit Uncle Herb. It must have stirred up some memories, because he DID NOT want to go back to the nursing home that night. It frustrates him to go home then go back to the nursing home. But, how do you explain it?

Thanks for all of your support. Mom usually gets Dad home for a few hours everyday, but she's not a "spring chicken" anymore either. The things they do are VERY scary. I would like to try to find out just how many in our family have this awful disease. If you know of anymore than our parents and Grandpa Neumann, please let me know and I'll post it on the Neumann Website. Email me - bigcindy@hotmail.com

Your dad was very blessed in raising some awesome children. May your faith & hope in the Lord continue to give you strength through this difficult journey w/homecare. Definitely a "gene" gone wrong somewhere in the Neumann gene pool. A study on all these Nemann siblings suffering w/some form of Az? Got to be a link somewhere. We enjoyed the pic Thanks
