Hemmings Motor News is proud to partner with The Longest Day event in the interest of inspiring collector car enthusiasts to add fundraising to their events and the activities they love. Funds raised for the Alzheimer's Association will go towards research, advances in treatment, and support of family members who care for individuals suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Founded in 1954, Hemmings is the world's largest collector car marketplace with millions of readers across the globe. Like many, we at Hemmings have seen Alzheimer's and related conditions touch the lives of our staff, readers and families.

For 2018 we'll be raising funds as our rally team competes in The Hemmings Motor News Great Race: a nine-day, two-thousand mile rally of endurance and skill featuring 125 historic rally cars and teams, stretching from Buffalo, NY to Halifax, NS. The Longest Day is all about doing what you love to honor who you love. It represents the challenging journey for those with Alzheimer's and their caregivers, for them everyday can seem like the longest day. We are dedicating our 2,351 mile drive to honor the heart, strength, and endurance of those facing Alzheimer's and their families.

The Longest Day will also be the featured charity for our Hemmings Cruise-In in June, as well as Club member events. At Hemmings we encourage all car enthusiast to get involved, so below are a few ideas to get your engines running:

• Take a long drive, make stops at businesses who will donate a percentage of proceeds to your team. Ask friends and family to donate per mile driven!
• Host a car show that benefits your Longest Day Team. Incorporate multiple fundraising tactics, entry fees, silent auction, bbq, etc.
• Did your loved one have a passion for classic cars? Work on your car or visit a car museum. Ask friends and family to donate in honor of your loved one and the passion you share for cars!
