Welcome to the 3nd Annual BvB San Diego Season! We are ready to raise more money to Tackle Alzheimer's Disease. With your help, we can support the more than 60,000 San Diegans suffering from Alzheimer's, their families and caregivers.

Our passion and hard work will take us from practice to the playing field, but our success will rely upon the support of our friends and families and upon all of those willing to donate to this important cause. Together, we can tackle Alzheimer’s!

Looking to get involved? We need dedicated players, but we also need cheerleaders, coaches and volunteers. Want to see the game for yourself? Donate at least $25 to one of our players today and you can receive admission to the game!

Meet Our Captains!

Ginny Cropped.jpg
Name:
Ginny Chacos
Team: Brunettes

About Ginny: I work for the Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego County running operations, family programs and volunteers. Off the clock, I am the Director for the San Diego Women's Lacrosse club, on the Board of Directors for BE REAL STUDENTS and on the Board for TEAM Mentor Connection. I went to the University of Tennessee, Go Vols! When I'm not working or playing lacrosse, I am volunteering and supporting my friends in their community endeavors. Being socially responsible is very important to me. I'm passionate about helping others. I love laughing, live music and everything neon.

Motivation/Drive: My Grandfather suffered from Dementia. Alzheimer's is a type of dementia that causes problems with memory, thinking and behavior. I loved my grandfather very much and I want to do everything I can to stop Alzheimer's.  In addition, Pat Summitt (Head Women's Basketball Coach-University of Tennessee- 1974 to 2012) also suffers from Alzheimer's and she has always been someone that I looked up to, before, during and after my time at UT.

Name:
Shannon Gearing
Team: Blondes

About Shannon: By day, I'm an Implementation Manager for a San Diego based software company called MindTouch Inc. By night, I'm a budding entrepreneur and constantly working on personal projects, which keeps my creative juices flowing. Outside of work, I'm a consistent athlete, participating in running half marathons, spin classes, beach volleyball and tennis (which I've played for the past 24 years). I love being social and hanging out with my different groups of friends, as well as keeping my faith for the Chargers and bleeding purple and gold for the Lakers #TeamMamba.

Motivation/Drive: Though I don't have a direct connection to Alzheimer's, I'm a big proponent for philanthropy which started back in childhood and has continued through my adult years. During college, I was an Alpha Phi and helped raise thousands of dollars for our philanthropy, Cardiac Care, as well as our annual Rady's Children's Hospital letter writing campaign and fundraiser. I also ran my first half marathon at Disneyland in honor of the AT Children's Fund, and raised over $800 for the organization. I'm excited to be continuing the fight for Alzheimer's for my third year in a row, and am honored to have been chosen as Captain for Team Blonde!
