Run in support of the Alzheimer's Association by becoming an ALZ Star!

Challenge yourself to change the course of Alzheimer’s disease by signing up to be an ALZ Star. Go the distance in the fight against this devastating disease by training for and completing the Columbus Marathon or Half Marathon while raising valuable funds to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.

To get started, click on "Sign Up Now" above. Once you join ALZ Stars, please register for  the marathon or 1/2 marathon. Please note: In order to maximize the funds raised through this event, the ALZ Stars program does not automatically provide you with your race entry (see details below). After you sign up, it’s time to start training toward the finish line and fundraising to fight Alzheimer’s!

Register as an individual:

Register as an individual and raise the minimum of $600 in donations and the Alzheimer's Association will pay your marathon registration fee OR your MIT training fees.

As an individual ALZ Star you'll receive:

  • An ALZ Stars technical running shirt
  • Expert training and coaching by the MIT Training Group (optional)
  • Fundraising support including
              - Your own personal fundraising webpage
              - Fundraising manual and email tips
              - Support from professional fundraising staff
  • Invitation to the pre-race carb-loading dinner
  • Access to the ALZ Stars tent

Register as an ALZ Stars Team

You can also sign up as a fundraising team of four (4) and raise a minimum of $1,000

As an ALZ Stars team member, you'll receive:

  • An ALZ Stars technical running shirt
  •  Fundraising support including
              - Your own personal fundraising webpage
              - Fundraising manual and email tips
              - Support from professional fundraising staff
  • Invitation to the pre-race carb-loading dinner
  • Access to the ALZ Stars tent

Team benefits

Whether you're an experienced athlete or just beginning your training program, participatibng in ALZ Stars will increase local awareness and inspire others to take action in the fight against Alzheimer's disease as you train to complete the Columbus Marathon or Half Marathon.
