The first Subzero Heroes was held on a chilly morning in February 2010 when 25 brave souls jumped into a frozen lake and approximately 80 others watched -- and laughed. Since then, the event has expanded dramatically, and we expect more than 1,000 people this year. Subzero Heroes is one of our most popular fundraisers -- and because of the strong media interest, one of our most visible. Funds raised for Subzero Heroes help support the Alzheimer's Association's goals of supporting families living with the disease while pursuing a cure.

Check in is from 9:30-11 a.m. at Berean Park, Highland, N.Y. 

Food will be provided between 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. THE JUMP WILL BEGIN PROMPTLY AT NOON.


1. A tent. There will be community changing areas for men and women, but some people bring thier own private tents to change in. **THERE WILL BE TWO HEATED CHANGING ROOMS THIS YEAR** (One for men and one for women).

2. A towel, blankets, etc.

3. A change of dry clothes, including shoes.

4. A filled-out copy of the event waiver to save time during the registration (Heroes, Sidekicks and volunteers). This waiver can be found here.


The 50 parking spots on site are for use only by those with a permit, including emergency responders, event staff, handicapped and senior citizens. If you fall into one of these categories, please contact Lauren Voorhees at 914.391.4161 or to request a parking pass.

ALL OTHER EVENT GUESTS can park at the Bridgeview Plaza, 3650 Route 9W, Highland, NY (in the Tractor Supply Parking lot). We will have shuttles running in a continuous loop from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Be a day-of-event volunteer and really get in on the action -- there are several ways to help.

Registration: Help with the check-in and registration process.

Crowd Control: Our Heroes are always very eager to jump into the frozen lake: Help keep these Super Heroes at bay until it is their turn to jump.

Setup/Breakdown: Help with the setup and breakdown of the event. These volunteers will be asked to arrive at 8 a.m. and stay until the end of cleanup.



Check in is from 10:30- 11:30 AM at Berean Parl, (at the end of Reservoir Road) in Highland. The Jump begins at noon.
