Parking
Parking is available on Suwanee, Franklin Blvd., and in Parking Garage 1 and Parking Garage C on the corners of Monroe and Bloxham.  The garages are adjacent to Centennial Field, the location of the Walk at Cascades Park.

Check In When You Arrive
Every walker must go to the “check-in” tent upon arrival. Please turn in any additional donations or make a personal donation if you haven’t had time to fundraise. Everyone who raises $100 or more will receive a Walk T-shirt when they check in. Those who raise $500 or more (as an individual) will receive aChampions Club Medallion.  Grand Champions (who raise $1,000 or more) will be given a Grand Champions Club  shirt and find a sign with their name along the walk route.  Before leaving the tent, walkers will receive a wristband indicating that they’ve checked in, as well as a program for the day’s event.

Why do you Walk?
Our presenting sponsor, Pope’s Pines, is providing a “Why I Walk” wall this year. It will be a huge banner where we can write our stories and post pictures of our loved ones. Please bring a photo to tack on the wall.

Promise Ceremony
Each registered walker will receive one free “Promise Flower”. There are four colors, so please request the color that represents your reason for attending this event: Purple you have lost someone to Alzheimer’s; Yellow you are caring for someone with Alzheimer’s; Blue you have Alzheimer’s disease; and Orange you are attending to show your support for this cause. You will then use a marker to write a personal message on the petals of the fabric flower (similar to a pinwheel), and carry it to participate in the Promise Ceremony before the Walk begins.

Walk Route
You may choose to remain in the park for the 1-mile route or select the 2.5 mile route which winds through Myers Park. Both are handicap accessible. Water is available along the route and turns are clearly marked with signage.

Pacesetter Tent
Kudos to our Top Fundraisers from 2016! The Pacesetter Tent will provide VIP Hospitality and a catered breakfast to the following teams and walker:  Visiting Angels,  The June Bugs, The James Gang,  The Purple Willies, and Brookdale Centre Pointe Blvd. and  the top individual Taylor Carter. The Top 5 Teams and the Top Individual fundraiser (who is not on a team) on December 31 will be invited to enjoy the Pacesetter Tent at next year’s walk!

A Few Reminders
Strollers and leashed dogs are welcome at the Walk. We will be having a dog costume contest this year, so be sure to dress up your furry friend! Please remember all walkers must register to participate. We look forward to seeing you there!
