Alzheimer’s disease is a major threat to health, especially since there are no ways to prevent, cure or even slow the disease. It is devastating for those diagnosed, and takes a significant toll on loved ones and caregivers involved.

According to the Alzheimer’s Association, more than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s. It is the sixth-leading cause of death in the U.S., and Ohio’s death rate is even higher than the U.S. average. Michigan experienced a 96 percent increase in Alzheimer’s deaths since 2000. In addition, our local populations continue to age. Now is a crucial time to take a stand.

We strongly support Alzheimer’s awareness, care, support and research because it is our duty to help improve the lives of people in the communities that we serve. Our ProMedica family walks for yours.
