Twelve years later I am still counting the days until we beat this damn disease and still helping to gather donations for the research to continue. I was heartened over the past year with the addition of new medications and technology that may help in the diagnosis and the fight, and the fact that this approach has been taken in the world of Alzheimers' research. The emphasis on medications that will "delay the onset" of Alzheimer's is crucial. The idea of not getting it for a while longer if you are already predisposed to it is exciting. Ultimately the hope is that we prevent it all together, but I think that is a ways off. The work being done to identify a predisposition to the disease through blood tests and/or scans is well underway and highly worth our continued support. If we can identify a predisposition to the disease and then start treatments with medications that will delay the onset, we could be well on our way to changing the face of the disease. Until that white flower walks among us, we have to keep up the fight. But until that day comes, I will continue to ask for your help and support for Team Scott. Donate, walk with us or pray with us, everything is appreciated. Sent with love, Team Scott
