My journey with Alzheimer's is deeply personal. I watched my grandfather bravely battle this cruel disease, seeing him slowly lose the memories that shaped him. His fight was filled with courage, but it was also a harsh reminder of how Alzheimer's can take so much from the ones we love.
Currently, my wife's grandmother is facing her own Alzheimer's struggle. Each day is a new challenge, and we see the toll it takes on her and our family. Yet, amid the heartbreak, there's a shared strength in coming together to support each other.
This personal connection to Alzheimer's is why I volunteer with the Alzheimer's Association. I serve as a dementia support group facilitator at Golden Age Home in Lockhart, TX, offering a safe space for those caring for those affected by this disease. It's a role that allows me to give back and help others navigate the complex journey of Alzheimer's.
Your support means a lot, whether through donations, participation in walks, or simply spreading awareness. Together, we can make a difference in the fight against Alzheimer's. Thank you for joining me on this journey.
