My dad was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia in 2017 and that is when the battle began, not only against the disease but between us. He was in complete denial and blamed me, he thought I was making it up. When COVID hit is when his disease progressed to where he was no longer safe in his own home. Of course, there were limited to NO resources at that time.
I would not wish ANYONE to walk the walk I did. It was hell for both of us. I did not get to see my dad, other than ER visits and hospital stays when something catastrophic happened in the final months of his life due to COVID restrictions in skilled nursing facilities.
THIS is why I walk!
