I'm walking in honor of my beautiful Mother, Betty N. Koch, who just lost her battle with dementia this year. This picture was taken just 9 months before her passing on her 94th birthday. Although her mind was ravaged by her dementia, she never lost her passion, her love and her zest for life. I walk for her.
I am also walking to help reclaim the future for millions. By participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®, I'm committed to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s research, care and support.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
