About two years ago, I lost my great grandmother to Alzheimer’s. She had been battling Alzheimer’s for as long as I can remember. Since she lived to be 90 years old, I don’t see her battle as lost. I see it as an opportunity to keep fighting for her, and although a great deal of her time was spent in pain fighting this disease, it allowed her family to enjoy the time we had with her while she was still here. 

Even though she’s gone, the threat Alzheimer’s poses is still here. I’m walking with my grandma in heart and mind. I know that she would be proud!
