I recently received news that my grandfather has this terrible disease. We have been aware for a while that something wasn't quite right, and through multiple doctors visits and testing, we finally have answers. It is heartbreaking to know that he is going to forget us, there will come a time when he won't remember his closest family and friends... and it absolutely breaks my heart. I can only speak for myself when I say I am grieving. We are a very close family and he has been a very important part of my life. I am going to spend every moment I can visiting him, making memories, taking pictures and videos, so my kids will remember him how he is now.
I have witnessed through my job first hand what this disease does. It is something that is hard to live through as the person that has the disease, and for the caregivers and family members that experience and witness the disease progression of their loved ones. This is my way to DO something. I ask that you donate what you can, every little bit helps in the journey to find a cure. ❤ Minnie
I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
