I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
This year, I am walking in honor of Arthur Douglas Weeks who was the President of the Rotary Club of Peekskill, a Paul Harris Fellow, and one of the founders of the Peekskill Rotary Horse Show. He owned and operated Arthur Weeks & Son Jewelers in Peekskill, a family run business that had its start in 1896, just recently closing its bricks and mortar site January of 2019. Sadly Doug (as he was called) spent many of his last years with Alzheimer's, unable to recognize those who looked up to him and followed in his footsteps. His son John, an active community member involved in many charities, will walk with us as we honor his father.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
