Satellite Walk Locations- Participation numbers and funds raised at these locations go to support the overall funds raised for the South Central Virginia Walk which funnels in to the overall goal of the Alzheimer's Association Southeastern Virginia chapter. SOUTH BOSTON 

South Boston- October 30
Sentara Woodview 
Registration/Check-In: 4 PM, Walk Start: 5:30 PM

Online registration  is now closed so staff working the event have the most up to date report. As a reminder, this Walk site hosts registrations and funds for 3 walk locations which funnels into meeting the overall goal of this area. 

Registration/Check-In begins at 4 PM on the campus of Sentara Woodview. Directions 
If you need to register, turn in funds or pick up a shirt after meeting the minimum $100 fundraising requirement, you need to visit Registration & Check-In. 

Donations- We accept cash, checks made payable to the Alzheimer's Association and credit cards. The walk site will remain open for online gifts until the end of the year. Download the Walk to End Alzheimer's app in the Apple Store or Google Play. Use the username and password created at registration and you can gain access to mobile check deposit, a NEW feature of the application. You can now make mobile check deposits and get instant credit for your fundraising efforts. Send offline funds to us at Alzheimer's Association, 6350 Center Drive, Suite 102, Norfolk VA 23502

Shirts- are available for participants who raise the minimum $100. Participants who raise $300 or more are also eligible to receive additional incentives.More info  The deadline for the national incentive program is on November 4. After funds are tallied, you will receive an email with instructions on how to redeem your prize which will be mailed directly. Questions about the program? Email Jenn, jchavez@alz.org

Parking- can be found in the community's lot. There is plenty of parking available. 

The opening ceremony- will begin at 5:15 PM. 

Promise Garden- Registered participants will be directed to pick a flower color based on the connection that best fits their participation. Please choose one flower. Take it with you as you will use it during the opening ceremony and then you will take it home with you.

BLUE- I have Alzheimer's or related dementia.
YELLOW- I am supporting or caring for someone.
ORANGE- I have no close connection but I support a world without Alzheimer's.
PURPLE- I have lost someone. 

Walk Route- 1 mile and longer options. You do not need to physically walk. You do not need to tell us which one you are doing. This is not a requirement of participation. Please stay as close to the sidewalk as possible. Streets are not closed for this event. 

Food and refreshments- will be provided. 

Petsare welcome but must be well-behaved and leashed at all times. 

Photos- We also invite you to take photos at the event and tag us by using the hashtags #walk2endalz #endalz #alzseva 
We will upload all photos to our chapter's facebook page and on Google Drive. You can also tag us in your photos @alzseva on Instagram.

CLARKSVILLE 

Clarksville- October 3
Sentara Meadowview Terrace
Registration/Check-In: 4 PM, Walk Start: 5 PM
This is a team event/walk is for residents and families of the Sentara community. However, all interested parties are welcome to join.

Registration begins at 4 PM on the campus of Sentara Meadowview Terrace. Staff of the community will say opening remarks. The walk is a short route in the parking lot of the community. We will recognize top fundraisers and total raised in the community room of the facility. This event from start to finish is approximately 1.5-2 hours long. 

FARMVILLE 

Farmville- October 4
Longwood Universtiy (Lancaster Hall) 
Registration/Check-In: 4 PM, Walk Start: 5 PM
All are welcome to join.
Parking can be found at Wynne Lot 
Event Site Map 

Registration begins at 4 PM in front of Lancaster Hall on the campus of Longwood University. The route is through campus, approximately 1.5-2 miles. Parking can be found in the Wynne lot. Volunteers will be on site to direct you to Lancaster Hall. Registered and unregistered walkers must check-in and sign a waiver to participate in our walk regardless of age. You will be directed to choose the most appropriate color flower from the promise garden as a registered participant. One flower per participant. Shirts are available for participants who raise the minimum $100. This walk is a part of an already established college event so opening ceremony will be included in the event kickoff.
