Julie's Walk Donation Page
To all those reading this message, thank you for visiting my fundraising page! This marks my 5th year to serve as Senior Star’s company-wide team captain in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s®.
Through my continued commitment in this cause, I gain new insights and perspectives and renewed resolve to help.
This past March, I had the honor of attending the Alzheimer's Advocacy Forum in Washington D.C. I joined thousands of others to advocate on the Hill for Alzheimer's funding and sponsorship of the Palliative Care and Hospice Education and Training Act and its goal of ensuring a high-quality palliative care and hospice workforce.
Volunteers from all over the country traveled to participate in ALZ day on the Hill-- all scattering about wearing purple sashes and meeting with members of Congress-- to share personal stories and demand our Nation's leaders give Alzheimer's the attention it requires.
My personal story goes something like this…
Alzheimer’s is all around me. Each day at work I think about the disease and what it’s doing to our nation, to families that we serve at Senior Star, to my own family. I look at my beautiful children and my amazing parents and wonder. I look at my husband. I look in the mirror… and wonder.
And I want to have a hand in the development of the story line on Alzheimer’s disease. I want to help shape where this disease is going (away!) and I want to hand my children a very powerful pen. A pen that they can pick up and use to write two words on Alzheimer’s, “The End.”
It’s a story that could come from any one of millions of people, who share these thoughts. If any of this resonates with you, please take action and click the donation link today! Together, we will #ENDALZ.Kind Regards,
Senior Star will provide gifted support to the Alzheimer's Association and its affiliates for donations made through our company teams up to $250,000.
Thank you for helping us advance Alzheimer's support, care and research!
