Amanda's Walk Donation Page
When I was little, I went to visit my best friend who was living in a facility at Fort Supply. We were inseparable before he left. He would read me books, tell me stories and filled the spot of a male role model. He came to my house everyday and we drank coffee. He once told me that coffee would put hair on my chest. To drink with my best buddy, it was a chance I was willing to take. The day of my visit I was so excited to see my pal as it had been some time since I had seen him. I entered his room, ran up to him and he looked at my grandmother and asked who I was. At 12 years old, I was mortified.
This moment in time has stuck with me and tormented me most of my life. My Grandpa Arnold had Alzheimers Disease. Now, I see the same thing happening to my mom. Without a cure, no medications to help and no sign of hope in sight, I see the possibility of this happening to me. Mortified, terrified and down right scared describes how I feel and why I am determined to fight this disease until my last breath.
I need your help as a donor, volunteer, team captain or team member. I want to see a cure before my girls and nephew have to face this same disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
