Ashli's Walk Donation Page
Coach and I are once again chairing the Walk to End ALZ in Tulsa, Oklahoma on September 15, 2018, and we are building a team for the event to honor our loved ones and all who are touched by Alzheimer's.
We walk in memory of my Grandma Syble and Coach's Granny who both died with Alzheimer's Disease. And we advocate and fundraise in hopes of helping Coach's mom, Sandra Jean Montgomery. This devastating disease has hit home in a heartbreaking way with Sandra. We pray everyday for advancements and treatments that can help Nana deal with her diagnosis.
She is not alone in her fight. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's, and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
My future is at risk as 10% of American's over 65 years old have Alzheimer's Disease or dementia, and 2/3 of those are women. My daughter's future is at a critically high risk with so many Alzheimer's diagnoses on both sides of her family. I do not want to see her beautiful life shredded by this cruel and fatal disease. I do not want to see my son have to make the tough choices I watch Coach have to make for his mom. I do not want my husband, my greatest gift from above and the absolute love of my life, to have to care for me because I an unable to do so for myself. I do not want to witness another person's life destroyed by Alzheimer's Disease.
We need your support to find the first Alzheimer's survivor and to stop what we believe is truly an epidemic. Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into methods of treatment, prevention and a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support, and resources in communities nationwide.
Please join our 2018 Tulsa Walk team: TEAM SANDRA JEAN. Come out to TU on Saturday, September 15th for a full day of fun and football as we raise funds and awareness to END ALZ. Or join us online as a virtual walker; either way, we are thrilled to have you on our team!
Thank you for joining the movement!
The end of Alzheimer's begins today, and it starts with us.
With love and hugs,
Thank you for helping us advance Alzheimer's support, care and research!
