David's Dream Team, in support of my husband, David Kontry, was started 9 years ago by our daughter, Jennifer.
He was 'officially' diagnosed with early-onset AD at 54 years old, 14 years ago, in 2007. Once diagnosed, we realized that there were signs that we could recall as early as 1998.
We know that there will not be a cure in time for David but we fundraise so that others will not have to experience the devastation of this disease and if they do, they are able to get help and guidance from the Alzheimer's Association.
David's Dream Team will be participating in the Detroit Walk to End Alzheimer's at the Zoo, in Royal Oak, on Saturday, August 25, at 7:30 AM.(Registration at 7:30/Ceremony at 8:30/ Walk at 8:50)
To participate in The Walk, please register by clicking on the button above that reads: JOIN MY TEAM.
We do feel hopeful this year that a cure will be found sooner than later with Bill Gates onboard with his personal donation of 50 million dollars and another 50 million dollars from his Foundation. We feel that he will work hard to find the best researchers...a cure must be discovered soon.
We need your support to help find a cure for AD. Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into prevention, treatments, and a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide. We are thankful for their services. (Please click on DONATE on the upper left hand side of this page.) Every dollar counts toward our goal.
Please consider joining our team!
With hope and appreciation,
Lori, Jacqueline, and Jennifer
