On January 2, 2017 we lost John Beiermann, to Alzheimer's. Since he was diagnosed, we watched helplessly as a man who loved his family, friends, and life, struggle through the difficult stages of this disease. Finally, we witnessed his journey come to an end.
Our family kept vigilant in his care and always held a slight glimmer of hope that a cure could be found. Words cannot express the thanks to those who work tirelessly in caring for him. For those who had loved ones of their own in the nursing home, thank you, for stopping to talk to him and make him laugh or get just a few words from him. To the friends who came through the years those visits meant something even if he could not express it any longer. We will never stop fighting to find a cure. We want to do our part to find a cure for this disease so some day others will never have to go through what we have.
I hope you can support , especially this year, by making a donation to the Alzheimer's Association so the organization can advance research into prevention, treatments, and a cure for Alzheimer's. If you would like to walk , just e-mail or give a call. This will be a more emotional walk this year as it is our first without him.
W want to see a day when no one has to say a slow and painful goodbye to their love one because of this disease!
