Erin's Walk Donation Page
On January 2, 2017 we lost my dad, John Beiermann, to Alzheimer's. Through the years since he was diagnosed, we watched helplessly as a man who loved his family, friends, and life, struggle through the difficult stages of this disease. Then at last, we finally witnessed his journey come to an end.
Our family kept vigilant in his care and always held a slight glimmer of hope that a cure could be found. Words cannot express my families thanks to those who work tirelessly in caring for my father. For those who had loved ones of their own in the nursing home but stopped to talk to my dad and make him laugh or get just a few words from him, thank you. To the friends who came through the years those visits meant something even if he could not express it any longer. I will never stop fighting to find a cure. I want to do my part to find a cure for this disease so some day others will never have to go through what we have.
I hope you can support my walk, especially this year, by making a donation to the Alzheimer's Association so the organization can advance research into prevention, treatments, and a cure for Alzheimer's. If you would like to walk with me, just e-mail or give me a call. This will be a more emotional walk as it is our first without him.
I want to see a day when no one has to say a slow and painful goodbye to their love one because of this disease!
Thank you for helping us advance Alzheimer's support, care and research!
