Silvia's Walk Donation Page
In honer of my beautiful mother, I am leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease. My inspiration to participate in this comes from seeing my mother struggle with this disease, some days not knowing where she is, other days feeling angry or depressed. The symptoms and progression of this disease slowly taking over my mother hurts in a way that inspires me to help others going through this disease, in hopes to eventually find a cure. Furthermore, more inspiration came to me to participate in this walk and fundraiser for the families and caregivers of the loved one's affected by this disease. In honor of my father who lives with her, and in honor of my family who all play a vital role in helping my mom and my dad. This walk will help raise funds to protect the future of my family, and the millions of other families who are going through the same thing, and maybe one day yours.
Walk with me, walk for those you know who are living with the disease, caring for someone with the disease, or lost someone to the disease. Help us reach the day that we can carry a white flower, for the first survivor of Alzheimer's! Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation and or walk with me to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
