News and Announcements

Please join our A2Y Facebook Group for up to date information, to interact with other walkers and Tips and Tricks for the upcoming 2017 Walk to End Alzheimer's. 

 

DAY OF EVENT INFORMATION:
Sunday October 8th
Community Park, Washtenaw Community College

Registration opens: 10:30 am

Opening ceremonies: 11:45 am

Parking information: Free Parking is available in Lots 4 and 5 on the Washtenaw Community College Campus. 

Additional event information:
-All walkers of all ages must check-in or register unless they attended Collection Day.
-In order to receive a t-shirt individuals must raise at least $100. Sizes range from small to XXXL, with select Children's sizes available
-Each registered walker may receive a Promise Garden Flower for the Opening Ceremony. Please hold onto your flower for the ceremony.
-Portable Restrooms are available in the circle drive of community park.
-New Walk Route for 2017 is just under a two-mile route, one loop around campus, on a concrete path. Walkers are not required to walk the entire route. There is a 1 mile route available.
-Dress for the weather!
-Water and a light snack will be available to registered walkers.
-Don't forget to wear your purple!

Walk Day of Event Activities:

Music and Entertainment from local community groups.

NEW in 2017- FACEPAINTING

FOOD TRUCKS- come back after the walk and purchase lunch from one of our local food truck partners! 

Champions Club Tent! Individuals who have raised $500 join our Champions Club and Individuals who have raised $1,000 or more join our Grand Champions Club! 

NEW in 2017- CHAMPION Level Teams- If your team has raised $1,000 or more by 10.2.17 at 12pm, you will receive a sign with your team name to carry on walk day!

 

Please note that cash and check donations that are mailed to the Alzheimer's Association can take up to five weeks to reflect accurately onto your Walk Page. Credit card donations reflect immediately. Thank you for your understanding.
