Marsha's Walk Donation Page
I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
My first memory of Alzheimer's was at a time when I was too young to even remember how old I was. But my grandfather, my dad's dad, was living with us. He would wander out the door and think he was just going over the hill to visit a relative. I remember, later, seeing him in a nursing home, but that's it. Those are all the memories I have of my Papaw.
Since then, I have seen 8 of my father's siblings come down with Alzheimer's or some other type of dementia. There is clearly a genetic link in our family. So, I am raising funds so the future generations in my family, and in yours, will have better and longer memories of their family.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
