The Anuenue Team takes its name from the Hawaiian word for rainbow. Life has rain, clouds and sun. We believe in the power of working together: a single strand of hair is easily broken, but many woven as a braid have great strength. We believe in action. Those principles bring us to this Walk.
Norma Jeanne Mullikin has inspired many over her decades of living. She has motivated kids to succeed in school and not give up; she has been a listening ear to family and friends - always there to lend a hand; she has quietly encouraged just about everyone she encounters - she reaches that place inside you and something grows; she finds wonder in the pattern rain makes on the window and her imagination ignites the dormant creativity within the other person; she has the gift of approaching every task with zeal - even things like washing dishes! - and making each bit of work fun; she laughs, at herself, at situations and maintains a perspective that helps everyone. And her hugs...they are legendary and convey love and respect.
Now it's time to give back.
As she walks the path of forgetfulness and lives increasingly in the present moment, we are reminded of the need for ongoing research to come up with prevention and treatment for memory related diseases that impact the lives of 5 million Americans. Another 16 million carepartners provide daily care. That's a bunch of folks needing better support and answers than they have now.
So donate! The Anuenue Team is trying to raise $2000. Be part of our success please. Thank you!
