News and Announcements

It's almost time for the 2017 Bainbridge Walk to End Alzheimer's!

Bank Night, Tuesday October 17th, 5-7pm, at Edward Jones on the Square. Stop by and turn in your Walk money.  Individuals who have raised $200 can also pick up their Walk t-shirts!

About the Bainbridge Walk to End Alzheimer’s

Thank you for your support as we prepare for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s!  A map of the Walk route is provided below.  Plan to arrive between 8:00 and 8:45 am so you can register and select your Promise Garden flower before the ceremony begins at 9:00 am.

Walk Day is RAIN OR SHINE! If we need to cancel due to severe weather, you will receive an email the morning of the event.

Register When You Arrive

Every walker needs to sign in at the Registration tent. There is never a charge to join the Walk, but all walkers must sign a waiver and receive a wristband.  If you registered online before noon on Friday, your packet will be waiting for you.  If you are not pre-registered, it will only take a few seconds to register at the Walk.  Please turn in any additional donations or make a personal donation if you haven’t had time to fundraise. Everyone who raises $200 or more will receive a Walk T-shirt. We will have a credit card reader, but cash and checks are preferred.

Promise Garden and Ceremony

After you have registered, visit the Promise Garden and choose your flower.  There are four symbolic colors that represent the reasons for attending this event:

  • Purple symbolizes that you have lost a loved one to Alzheimer’s.
  • Yellow symbolizes that you are a caregiver.
  • Orange symbolizes that you support the cause.
  • Blue symbolizes that you have Alzheimer’s.

Use a marker to write a personal message on the petals of the fabric flower (similar to a pinwheel), and carry it to participate in the Promise Ceremony before the Walk begins.

Grand Champions

Those who raise $500 or more (as an individual) will receive a Champions Club Medallion.  Grand Champions (who raise $1,000 or more) will be given a Grand Champions t- shirt.

The Bainbridge Walk

The Bainbridge Walk to End Alzheimer’s is not an athletic event.  We join together with the Alzheimer’s Association to show our commitment to finding a cure for this terrible disease.  The Walk route is clearly marked, and some of your neighbors wait at each road crossing to assist (or chat) as needed.  There are water stations and purple pom poms along the route to cheer you on.
