News and Announcements

Due to the recent rain and the pending weather forecast, the call has been made to move the Festival Area from the Business Field to Herbst Plaza(see map).

There are currently areas of standing water on the Business Field.  We don’t want to risk the damage that could occur on a saturated field setting up and using heavy equipment.  We also want all of our patrons: walkers, sponsors and volunteers alike to enjoy the festivities in comfortable and safe conditions.

Herbst Plaza is just North of the Business Field at CU, so we will still be utilizing the parking garage off of Engineering Dr.  We will be starting and finishing the Walk route on the East side of Herbst Plaza along Regent Dr.  Other than the relocation of the start and finish line the route has not changed.

Thank you for your understanding in advance.  We are trying to make the best of the situation and we know that this may raise concerns for some… change can be hard.  However, we are confident that our mission:

To eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.

will keep us focused on what is truly important and why we are all a part of the Boulder Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

Please remember that Check In and Day of Registration will open at 8:00am.  On Walk Day each registered participant will receive a wristband.  That wristband will be needed to obtain your Promise Flower.  Individuals who have raised $100 or more will be able to pick up their Walk t-shirt Saturday morning as well.  Our Champions and Grand Champions, individuals who have raised over $500.00 and $1000.00 (respectively), are invited to visit the Champions Club in the festival area.  In addition all Champions and Grand Champions will receive a medal and our Grand Champions will receive a tech shirt.

Please click on the Event Info icon on our Home Page for more.

The Walk to End Alzheimer's is a rain or shine event, Check the weather and dress appropriately.  However, in the case of severe weather, we will cancel.  If this is the case, we will update our Walk homepage on or before the morning of the event.  You may also call our 24/7 Helpline at 1-800-272-3900.
