Will You Fight For The First Survivor? What If You Are The Person That Needs Help?.....Do you know where the bathroom is? Do you have one of those little doors over an HVAC vent? Well, this is a problem for them (at least it was for us). Every trip to the bathroom was a new journey and since the door to the a/c unit was almost directly across the hall, many a times she reached ever so high for that door knob thinking that is where she needed to go to make it to the bathroom. Her son, the person she called her brother (and she never had a brother), or he may be called one of his other brothers names but never his own unless you correct her and that is something we would rarely do. You Don't. You Don't Argue. You Don't Correct. You Don't Confuse Them Anymore Than What They Are Already Dealing With. And, your family, friends, and visitor list grows. There is always the question "When is that girl coming over?" or "Is those parents going to drop off those kids?". People lose names and become "that girl", "that woman", "those kids", "you", "that man", "that boy" or "those people". And for the people that believe in spirits roaming the earth, my best advice is to stay away, because when you are in the restroom and you are standing at the door, and they ask if you saw that boy that came in the bathroom and washed his hands then left while you were in there, you might be a little disturbed that you were guarding the door or maybe you would consider not watching anymore scary movies. When you sit and have conversation and they ask if your parents ever wonder where you are at (and you are in your 40's). "No, they aren't really worried, it's ok." Do you value food? I'm glad you can remember to eat it. Every Single Minute is a new adventure. Every Time you go outside, "Whose vehicle is that?" Go back to the older days... Oh the love for Elvis and she doesn't even remember he is not alive (well as far as we think he is not). The constant talk of loved ones that have already left us behind but the conversation is as if they are still here. This is not for the weak. This is not for the faint at heart. But this is REAL and by chance your family has not been touched by it, count your blessings 10x over then make a donation to my team for the 2017 season. Yes, I said it! You can stand on the sidelines as a spectator and show support or you just may end up in the game as a player being toted off that field because ALZ doesn't care if you are male or female and it doesn't have to wait until you are "OLD". Do you think you understand the disease now because I only gave you a small sample. Remember, when you think you are having a bad day and want to forget it all, be careful because one day you may actually forget it ALL!

Alzheimer’s disease is relentless. So are we. Join our team for the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®, the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.
