He was an intelligent, caring, and hard-working man. He was a man that lived life to the fullest and never took a day for granted. He lived the American dream; he married the love of his life, built his own house, had children, and made a name for himself. He loved telling stories of his experiences in life, especially the ones about his mischievous pranks that he played on others. He is my grandpa and sadly he is not the same man that he used to be. Things are different now. Now he has Alzheimer's disease. Now his stories do not make any sense. Now he is forgetful and easier to anger. However, he is still the man that taught me many life lessons. He is being consumed by an incurable disease, and it kills me to see it happening to such a good man.
That is why I am joining the cause to end Alzheimer's Disease. For not only him, but for the millions of others who have the disease and for their families.
