Thanks to your passion and dedication, we soared past our original fundraising goal and are now on our way to raising ONE MILLION DOLLARS for the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association! The Walk was an amazing event, but let's not stop there! Together we can #ENDALZ!
1) Do I need to register my kids/grandpa/husband/etc.
They don't have to register, but there will be liability waivers at the Walk that we will need signed with their/your kids names on it.
2) What if it rains on the day of the Walk?
We will hold the event in rain or shine! Any changes will be posted here and on social media.
3) How many shirts do I get?
Every registered Walk participant who raises $100 or more will receive an official 2018 Walk to End Alzheimer's T-shirt. For teams, T-shirts are distributed based on the amount of money they raise, capped by the number of registered participants on the team. For example, a team of 10 that raises $800 would get eight shirts. A team of 10 that raises $1,200 would get 10 shirts.
4) Can someone else pick up my T-shirt & registration wristband?
Yes, one person can pick up the materials for an entire team either at Bank Days or registration the morning of the Walk. All you need is the name of the participant(s) or team.
5) What if I can't make it to the Alzheimer's Association office for Bank Days?
You can still get your T-shirt(s) and all important information at registration the morning of the Walk.
6) Where do I park downtown?
We do not have any lots specifically designated for the Walk, but finding parking in one of the many lots near the Civic Center should not be a problem. Carpool, come early, and prepare to have fun!
7) Is there a registration fee?
It is free to register, but we encourage every participant to raise funds for the cause. Raise $100 to earn your official 2018 Walk to End Alzheimer's T-shirt!
8) Is it too late to raise money?
It’s never too late! We will continue to raise money through the end of the year, hoping for every opportunity to END this disease.
9) Can I bring my (non-service) dog?
For liability concerns, we do not encourage it.
10) When do volunteers need to arrive?
Volunteer check-in is 5:30 a.m. just to the south side of the Civic Center Music Hall.
You can expand your reach and meet your goal faster by creating a Facebook Fundraiser for Walk to End Alzheimer’s from your online Participant Center. Donations made to your Fundraiser on Facebook will be added to your fundraising page and count toward your goal.
(PLEASE NOTE this is NOT the case if you create a Facebook Fundraiser without going through the Participant Center. In those situations, funds go to Facebook and then to our home office, without any way for us to track or designate your personal fundraising efforts.)
Here’s how to create your Fundraiser on Facebook:
1. Visit your Participant Center dashboard
2. Connect to Facebook and grant permission
3. Invite friends and share updates on Facebook
Did you know registered participants can now deposit check donations through the Walk to End Alzheimer's mobile app? Watch tutorial video here.
